No. 34 Galliard

250 SEK

The No. 34 Wavy Icarus is marbled with two different shades of turquoise, black, and white.

Wavy Icarus is a modern pattern. from the 20th century; a variation of the Icarus marble. It starts with a Turkish base (the oldest European marbling pattern, dating back to the early 15th century), which is made by tapping colours from a brush onto the marbling bath, creating a random, spotted pattern. From this, an Arch base is made by combing the bath twice horizontally with a narrow-teethed comb. Another comb with less narrow teeth is drawn through the bath once vertically to make arches. Once the Arch pattern is done, the bath is combed twice vertically and then once horizontally. Lastly, the bath is combed top to bottom in wavy lines.

Icarus is also called Icare and Dutch.

Galliard pages measure:
165 x 225 mm ≈ 6,5 x 9 inches

Marbré notebooks are bound in handmade marbled paper, come in three sizes, in many palettes and patterns, with ruled or plain pages, and no two notebooks are exactly alike.

The standard Marbré notebook sizes are made for portability. Larger models and traditional photo albums are being developed and will be available later in 2015.

The large notebooks measure 165 x 225 mm, or roughly 6,5 x 9 in.

The medium notebooks measure 125 x 165 mm, or roughly 5 x 6,5 in.

The landscape notebooks measure 165 x 110 mm, or roughly 6,5 x 4,5 in.

Marbré notebooks are made with the highest quality materials. The superior Munken, off-white, 150 gsm, acid-free archival paper, takes all manner of pen and pencil beautifully. The cloth on the covers stretches fully behind the marbled panels, to ensure strength and durability. The ruled pages have light grey lines that are practically invisible when the page has writing.

Marbré notebooks are proudly made in Europe, to guarantee minimal environmental impact and maximal manufacturing quality. Marbré notebooks manufacturers and materials are certified Nordic Ecolabel and EU Ecolabel, two of the worlds most stringent regulations. The beautifully situated Munkedal paper plant, in the heart of Scandinavia, is certified as one of the cleanest on the planet.
